Pick-up detection through weight difference
The sensor is designed to have a shelf installed on top of the front end of the sensor, on which items can be placed. When an item is lifted, the sensor will recognize what item was picked up based on the detected weight difference. The sensor can recognize the lift and placement of 16 individual items based on their unique weight, even in the case of subtle differences. The sensor can therefore be applied to create a Lift & Learn application for any type of object, as long as the items have a slight difference in weight.

Weight measurement
The sensor can be set to output the detected weight difference in 0.1 grams when a weight delta is detected, for example when an item is lifted. Next to this, the sensor can also be applied as a regular weighing scale, providing the absolute weight in 0.1 grams when an object is placed or lifted from the shelf mounted on the sensor.

X-talk
The XZ Weight sensor can easily be connected to any of the Nexmosphere Xperience controllers using the X-talk interface. All settings of the XZ sensor are programmable on the controller, enabling a seamless integration in your application.
